1. How do I use these products?

Kitchen Connaisseur sauces and hors d’oeuvre are ready to use right out of the jar! We have many recipes and menu ideas available, so please browse through our selection of recipes and menus.

2. Where are these products made?

Kitchen Connaisseur is located south of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The products are prepared in a commercial kitchen, using the highest quality, fresh ingredients. Most ingredients originate in Canada; however, we do source ingredients which are not grown or produced here from outside the country.

3. Where can I purchase these products?

Kitchen Connaisseur products can be found in gift and specialty shops across Canada. You can also order online, by phone, or shop in our Stratford store.

4. Food allergies?

A complete list of ingredients and nutrition labels are on each product.  In addition and in much larger print, on this web site the product pages have a complete list of ingredients, as well as detailed nutritional information.

Re: NUTS: There are nuts and peanut butter stored where the products are prepared. The following products contain nuts:

Peanut Sauce

Basil Flavoured Walnut Oil

Pesto Sauce (pine nuts)

Curry and Cream Sauce, and Peanut Sauce contain coconut creme

Re: FLOUR or WHEAT PRODUCT: We do use these as thickeners, and they are identified on the product ingredients. Consumers who are allergic to these products should read the ingredients carefully.

5. Do the products contain preservatives?

We try not to use preservatives, but there are a few products where they are required in order to make the product shelf stable. They are:

Pesto Sauce

Kalmata Olive Tapenade

Caramelized Onions

Rub for BBQ

6. How long will the products last?

All Kitchen Connaisseur products are shelf stable, and are best stored in a cool, dark place until use.

Once opened, the directions for storage of each product can be found on the label. It is different for each product, but the following is a general guideline:

Curry and Cream Sauce, Sun Dried Tomato Sauce, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, Peanut Sauce – 3 weeks, in the fridge (no preservatives.)

Pesto Sauce, Hors d’Oeuvre spreads – 6-8 months in the fridge (preservatives)

Dessert Sauces – 12 months in the fridge (although we bet your jars will be long empty by then!)

Pasta, Vinegars – indefinitely

7. What currency are the prices on the site?

All Kitchen Connaisseur products are priced in Canadian dollars.
